Karyn Booth is a partner and leader of Thompson Hine LLP’s Transportation practice group. She is a strategic advisor to multinational corporations, logistics companies, and trade associations on domestic and international freight transportation matters. Her practice covers the carriage of goods by vessel, rail, motor, and air carriers. Karyn has been at the forefront of major policy proceedings before federal transportation agencies, including the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission and the Congress. She was directly involved in recent and prior efforts to reform the Shipping Act of 1984, leading to passage of the Ocean Shipping Reform Acts of 2022 and 1998. She also is active in freight rail policy matters before the Surface Transportation Board involving rail service, competition, and rates.
